Acts as a liaison for Departments for Clinical System issues.

Ensures the quality of care in the use of radiation-producing sources and equipment is responsible for the provision of safety for patients and staff from radiation. Provides technical assistance in the development of treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy; monitoring patients; maintain established policies, procedures, objectives, quality measurement and safety. Performs radiation control work related to the investigation, surveillance, inspection and registration of radiation and x-ray producing machines. Assumes the role of assistant of Radiation Safety Officer for Radiation Therapy and/or Diagnostic Departments.

Ensures safe and effective delivery of radiotherapy procedures by performing accurate radiation treatment plans for patients. Supervisor performs day to day operations under the direction of the department operations director and the medical director of the Radiation Therapy. Daily operations include, scheduling radiation therapists to appropriately levels to safely operate/perform CT planning and radiation treatment of the day’s workload, report issues that can affect operations and patientcare and safety, as well as any concerns and issue brought my patient, staff or physicians. This position also functions as a Radiation Therapist, administering therapeutic radiation, as ordered to facilitate accurate treatment delivery and in accordance with state and federal regulations.  The Radiation Therapy Supervisor works closely with the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist and Dosimetrist in planning courses of radiation therapy by performing radiation dose distribution, position and dosage calculations and constructing treatment devices.  This individual provides clear communication within the department and assists in the maintenance of radiation and repairs of equipment. This position performs training, education, payroll, corrective actions, works to ensure all therapy equipment service issues are addressed timely, communicates effectively with Dosimetrist, Therapists, Nursing, Physicist and Physician. This position communicates directly with the Operations director and assists in maintaining departmental accreditations at all levels.    

The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.
